Scrimshaw, the art of engraving on bone or ivory, is one of the great American maritime art forms. After it originally flourished in the 19^thcentury, it has seen a renaissance in recent decades as collectors seek antique pieces and contemporary artists produce new works. In this workshop, featuring Master Engraver Lynn Zelesnikar, we will learn about the history of scrimshaw and try our hand at creating a small scrimshaw project.
